Modeling and simulation make breakthrough progress thanks to HPC resources. They are today essential to scientific research in the energy field.  Social acceptance of nuclear energy and conditions for its future use depends on the ability of energy actors to respond to questions from the general public, industrialists and public health authorities on the impact of nuclear activities on man and his environment.

Simulation replaces experiences that can not be processed in laboratories because too dangerous or forbidden (accidents), too long (climate and environmental sciences), inaccessible (astrophysics) or forbidden (nuclear tests) and also greatly improves productivity.
